"Request" for a Tutorial on puttying and sanding

After looking at several FANTASTIC custom car progress threads, I came to the realization I don't know how to sand! My techniques are quite simple: Sanding stick, or piece of sandpaper on the end of a finger. Using these, though, I would never be able to come up with some of the beautiful and smooth shapes you guys are creating.

If anybody would like to comment on techniques they use for sanding, I'm sure I'm not the only person who would appreciate it.

And if you want to wait until after the competition is over, that's ok too. I'm a patient man.

Thanks!

Re: "Request" for a Tutorial on puttying and sanding

If you mean by simple sanding of a plastic body, you'll need to use several grade of sand papers progressvely.
If you mean by creating your own shape using sand paper, you should divide a particular shape into sections, and work each part separately, buildign up with putty and sand, and repeat for teh other arears. For example 1/3 of top, middle and 1/3 of bottom, depending on your desired shape.
