Turbo ?'s for 99 gsr

First where is the best place to buy a kit with everything in it?
Do u have to take the power steering out when installing?
If u have a turbo for ur teg how do u like it?

hey did u get my message? well any ways, here are some turbo websites, read them over and see which one u prefer.

http://www.revhard.com/turbo_kits.html

http://www.turboneticsinc.com/tsystems.html

http://www.dragturbokits.com/

http://www.greddy.com/

i like the rev hard kit but its not as high quality as the turbonetics. if u want a legal kit, greddy is the way to go although performance isn't as high. and lastly, drag is cool, but i think u know which one i would choose.

never heard of this heresay. both methods of forced induction are good, although you will see better power gains with a turbo and this is my preferrence. hhmmm, who told u it was better to supercharge a newer gsr?

wouldnt it be better to supercharge a GSR? seeing as how it has vtec and not much torque in the lower range it would be more usefull correct? I know turbos in the long run are better but just for someone who wants more dart maybe a supercharger is the way to go eh?

for your first question, no not really. it doesn't matter which kind of blower u use on a vtec motor since force induction is forced induction. a supercharger and a turbocharger works into reaching the same objective, to forced air into your motor. the difference is how they go about reaching thier objectives in their own form. one is belt operated, and the other is exhaust propelled.

true, hondas' don't have much torque and in general superchargers do have instant boost (don't mistake this with full boost) but its more of a steady incline due to the fact that it is belt driven and the amount of psi is relevant to its enigine rpms. so for example, if the car was at say 2000 rpms it would be a 2 psi, at 4000rpms-4psi, 6000rpms-6psi, and so forth.

with a turbo charger, boost isn't imediate, but after the turbo gets spooling at around 2500-4000 rpms depending on turbo size, you would already have full boost through out the powerband making more power then the supercharger ever could, not to mention for the supercharger it takes power to make power.

the only time a supercharger would be more useful is when ur driving causes u to go up and down in the rpms such as an autocross or a course track. turbos on the other hand works more efficiently at a mid to higher constant speed, so driving in and out of boost is very pain staking in a course track.

Thanks for the info guys- very helpful- I think I am leaning to the supercharger. I am a driver that wants full range rpms. so this may be my best bet I think. Thanks again.
