Talking Maxima vs. IS300

Well I was on the way to drop off two of my buddies (they are brothers) at their house when this pewter gray IS300 goes flying by me. I think nothing of it until we come to a stop sign and it's obvious he is waiting for me. I pull next to him and we take off. I have about 1/2 a car on him but I have to slam on the brakes because there is a slow moving truck in my lane, he goes flying by and I pull around the truck and try to catch up. As luck would have it, there is a red light up ahead and we are the first two cars there, so I know it's on. The light turns green and we are off to the races......by about 60 mph I have 3/4 of a car on him......we get up to about 100-105 and I have about a car and a half on him. I knew the guy from when I used to go to high school and so did my buddies, so we all waved out the window. He flicks on his hi beams (asshole) and turns off. But yeah, I won.

Re: Maxima vs. IS300

Yep, it always feels good to beat cars with twice the blue book value in a relatively similar market segment.

damn dude this is the second thread about street racing you've posted this week already...... you must live in an area with a lot of young drivers who love to street race, either that or....... well lets not go there for now anyway congrats on the win, as i said before, maximas are one of the best 6's on the market, but many people take em lightly not knowing their real potential and power. Bet that IS300 driver got a shock too

Re: Maxima vs. IS300

I'm not sure, maybe it's just dumb luck.....because before this week, I hadn't had an impromptu street race in about a year....guess it was just my time, lol.

Re: Maxima vs. IS300

this has been a pretty exciting week for maxima's.
you took an IS300
-this guy takes a mustang and 1.8t VW
this guy takes a lightly modded S2K and stock M3

it's good to see. maybe these cars'll finally get the recognition they deserve.

Re: Maxima vs. IS300

Hopefully.....no one ever seems to take a maxima seriously.....like when I beat people, they are all surprised, lol.
