Angry Key won't work, who to call?

My daughter is visiting for the weekend, and she can't get the key to turn the ignition switch. I would guess worn out. Tried turning the wheel, etc. The car is a '94 or '95 Geo Prism. (Toyota/Chevrolet)
My question is: should I have it towed to a dealer, or call a locksmith? The ignition is on the dash, not the steering column. A QUICK response would be appreciated. I really don't want to lend her my 2004 Chevy Z71 so she can get back home.

Thanks!

I know that for honda you can't have a new key made from a locksmith cuz there's a chip inside. Just to be on the safe side call a dealer or mechanic first to see if there's a chip inside and ask them if you can have one made from a locksmith which is probably cheaper.

My Easter eggs have turned rotten

I decided to call a locksmith, who finally showed up late yesterday afternoon. The lock was shot, he didn't have one to fit, and lots of luck finding one on Easter Saturday. He thought he could have a replacement Tuesday or Wednesday, so I ONLY have to rent my daughter a car for three days. Thanks for the reply.
