Thumbs up Raising a 240

All Right People, this is what I want to do; give me your comments:

I want to raise my 1989 240sx. I have already changed the tires in the back to 205/75/15 and the little bit of difference made it look mean. I know this is not the norm. Everyone wants a drop. I don't. The tires in the front are a different story. They are 205/65/15. Due to the Spring's base being less than an inch from my front tire already, I can't raise the front's tire size. I am working on a way to solve that.

I know a lot of people will have a problem, with the fact that the accelleration will be slower. I know. It does raise the top speed, though (having larger tires). At 50MPH on the spedo, I am doing roughly 5 over.

I would like to compensate for the loss later if I can get the car up higher and put larger tires on it. I really one want to go up to 225/75/16s. That is about another inch of height. The compensation I would like to do is swap out the 2.4L engine for a 3.0 from a maxima or 300ZX.

Alright, let me know what you think

DD

Raise your 240 and make it a killer drag car with some meaty ass slicks. Then spit on everybody who calls you a fool for throwing away the great potential of your car! ... Seriously :P

He goes mudding in his 240. Now that's awesome! I don't know if I want to change the engine or not, but I am up to 265,600 miles on this one, and I know it will eventually have to happen. Either way, when this one goes I will put something a little meatier in there, even if it is another 2.4, it will have balls. 3.0 is so tempting, though, especially since it has already been done. It makes it alot easier knowing that someone else has accomplished it. Either way, I appreciate everyone's thoughts thus far. As for the get a truck, that's too easy.

later

Re: Raising a 240

I need a little help. I am trying to find out what Spring assemblies I need to buy so I can put larger tires on the front. Right now the bottom the spring assemblies stick out over the top of the tire and make it impossible to put larger tires on even if I raise it.
