the right turbo for 2500cc h22

Hi,
My engine (h22a) is being resleeved as I am typing. It is over bored to 89mm which should give me around ~2500cc of displacement. The car is intended to be a daily driver at ~15 psi but it also needs to get me into 600 hp range, once in a while ~25 pounds or more. I am considering a ball bearing t3/t04 hybrid that will get me there (sc61?). If anyone had experience with different turbos I would certainly need that. Money is not the bigest issue, because I would rather save it for a little longer and get something better. I am not very sure which brand to go with. Any help is appreciated.

This is just something off the top of my head, H23 crank in a H22 block + high boost = all good ; any previous experience?
Thanks in advance,
Serge

garrett makes some really nice turbochargers.. sounds like you're going for the all out drag car... i'd e-mail garrett and see what they have to say

Don't bother spending a lot of extra money on a ball-bearing turbo, just go with the SC61, it'll work great on your motor.

Just noticed you said 600 once in a while. Are you talking 600 at the motor ot 600 to the tires? If you're thinking 600 WHP, that's about time to make the jump from a T3 exhaust housing to a T4 exhaust housing. If that's your goal, I would recommend a PT67, P-trim with a .68 A/R tang housing, and the anti-surge compressor housing.

Re: the right turbo for 2500cc h22

if ur trying to hit the 600 hp range (wheel or crank?), either way most t3/t4 won't get u there. they are efficient to about 450-500 hp, in other words u would have opt to get something bigger such as t61 or t64 from turbonetics "t series". with bigger turbos come more longer lag, so i definately consider in getting a ball bearing to help cut down the lag by a couple hundred rpms.

Thanks for all replies, I am planning on sticking with a hybrid. The 600 hp I was talking about are crank. 350 whp daily driven. I've seen a few people with an sc61 do that. On smaller motors, cc wise. I could get that particular one cheap too. So thanks everyone who replied.

People have made that much power with an SC61 on a smaller cube motor, but that means you won't be able to make as much with the same turbo on your motor, with the same exhaust housing. A bigger motor is moving more air in and out of the motor, so you need to compensate with a bigger exhaust housing. On a 2.5L motor I would strongly consider moving up to .68 A/R P-trim TO4 exhaust housing/wheel, or at the very least a .82 A/R Stage V T3 housing/wheel.
