Does higher viscosity oil raise oil pressure?

my oil pressure is too low i need to raise it. Does higher viscosity oil raise oil pressure?

You probably need to replace your oil pump or clean the pickup etc. Putting higher viscosity oil in will only make the problem worse if something like the ol pump is going out. What motor do you have? B18A1, B18B1,B18C1,B17A? And how many miles are on it and how often do you change the oil. Also what kind of oil are you using ( brand and viscosity rating) ?

*Edit* You may also have a really bad oil leak too, do you lose alot of oil?

i've heard that it increases oil pressure a little, but it's a temporary solution. Find out the real reason why low oil pressure or the engine will die.

also with thicker oil, you will consume more gas

Dont worry i just sold the car today! My oil light was on and iwanted it off before they looked at my car,i did the oil change with high viscosity oil and oil stabalizer and the oil light went away. For today anyways
