Wow, glad I found this site..I am Canadian and was working in NY in 2000. I purchased a brand new Rodeo 2000 in NJ.
I moved back to Ottawa in 2002 and have always had the truck serviced in an Isuzu dealership close to my house. I have the oil consumption problem, had the fuel sending problem, transmission problem and now having a PCM module unit problem. All my problems are covered in the US but both countries have explained they do not mutually honor CAD/US warranties. My problem has been that the Canadian Dealership has been telling me that if my truck had been bought in Canada, they would have done all these repairs for free. Instead, I have to drive 2 1/2 hours to the nearest US dealership for service. However, they never accept the Canadian diagnostic and tell me the problem is something else for which I have to pay. US dealership does not want me to speak to the rep, and often they keep my truck for 1-2 weeks before the "rep" turns down repairs under warranty. Anyone out there have any advice as to whom I may call to get things moving in the US...This is getting frustrating since Canada is using the same Isuzu computer, the same TAC line call center service. For example Canada told me my PCM module needs to be replaced following computer diagnostic and support from TAC line engineers. US dealership tells me diagnostic is short in wire harness to the PCM module. They want me to pay for them to find the faulty wire......HELP! |

If you live in ontario call OMVIC.http://www.omvic.on.ca. Ontario motor vehicle investigation center. Also call CAMVAP. http://www.camvap.ca/. Canadian motor vehicle arbritation plan.
See what they say. The biggest problem is with Saturn/Saab a division of GM. They are cutting their support for Isuzu. My local dealer just removed the Isuzu sign from the building. Since they stopped selling Isuzu in Canada. GM has done everything not to honour warranties. A dishonourable cost cutting decision. I'm thinking of see if Honda will do my service. In the end the onus is always on the consumer to resolve any dispute between dealers/service centers and car owner. OMVIC will only investigate you claim, they have no legal power to enforce a resolution. I almost had to resort to using CAMVAP but resolve my problem before it was needed. The final and only way to resolve your warranty problems is by taking GM to court. Maybe this should always be the first course of action when dealing with GM. If you get screwed, do some accounting. If the cost of your repairs and your emotional wellbeing out weigh the cost of buying a new car. Buy a new car. Something with cheaper parts and can be serviced by all dealerships and independant garages, Good luck |

CAMVAP is a choice. I think the vehicle has to be under 160,000 km, but I'm not positive.
I took Toyota to CAMVAP and got my money back for an Echo. With a little preparation you have a good chance. I made a webpage about my experience for others to read. |

Sorry to hear about these problems! Are you sure your PCM/wiring issue is still under factory warranty? Your 3/50 bumper/bumper is long gone, and the 10/120 does not cover any electronics. You need to refer to your (2000) owners manual, as it contains a break-down of specific component warranties.
G/luck! Joel
