Just interesting.

A 1968 Ford Mustang coupe w/ a 289, all equipment(spare, jack, 3/4 tank of gas), automatic with air conditioning and power steering, weighs exactly 3,340 lbs.

I measured it on the scale at the local weights and measures office, which is the one that sets the scales here in the county, so it's accurate.

Anyone here have exact numbers on any other models of Mustang?

Re: Just interesting.

Well, the AC probably accounts for only about 40-60 pounds, (it has a cast iron compressor) and the power steering pump and all the valves and rams and bullshit that go with it probably account for another 40 or so pounds. Still, that's 200 or so over a fastback, which is surprising. I don't know what the GVWR of a 68 is so I can't compare to see what's adding the weight. Suppose I should look that up...

well a fastback weighs approx. 100 pounds more than a coupe straight out of the factory. also he had aluminium intake, headers, ect. as far as i know he had about 1/2 tank of gas.

so really i guess with your 3340 isn't really that far off if you have a driver in it. a/c is a huge bitch when it comes to power and weight, p/s isn't a savoir either. all nice stuff to have though. a brake boster would add about 15 pounds too if you had one. and if all your stuff is steel that would take into effect. spare/jack is another 40 pounds or more. so in reality, i guess, if you had a driver in your car i could see that working out.
