Lexus ES300 gas smell in cabin

I have a 2000 ES300 which often smells of raw gasoline. The smell is most noticable on start up or when coming to a stop. The smell is mostly in the cabin of the car. All the FI lines are dry and there are no visible signs of leakage anywhere. Any suggestions?

The car sounds like it may be running rich. Have you gotten any check engine lights? Even if they flickered on and off? Does your tailpipe or rear bumper have black soot on it? If the gas was an engine compartment leak, you'd smell it when driving. When you start the car, or come to a stop, the exhaust fumes can circulate the car giving you the gasoline smell. Have you noticed a drop in gas mileage and/or performance? I would also check your gas cap and filler pipe. Any thing is possible.
