tokico vs. koni

i just dropped my sedan with H&R OE .75 springs on stock shocks. The ride is much better, less noise and less bouncy.

I'm thinking of getting Koni red specials, but the motorsport shop guy who installed my springs said that I should go with Tokico shocks.

Looking at carreview.com i found that more people were happy with Koni, than Tokico shocks owners who complain. I went with H&R springs over Eibach because of their reviews too, and now i love H&R.

also i don't have money, so which is the most bang for my buck?

Re: tokico vs. koni

yeah, the koni red seems to have happy customers, I'll get them over Tokico.

The owner of my local performace shop does a lot of work, that why I considered his advice on Tokico, but I'm gonna go with Koni.

He works like crazy, 8am to 11pm.
he called me up at 9:30pm that my car was just done, when everyother shop in town is closed.

Re: tokico vs. koni

i have koni yellows and i love em!!! ive installed 2 sets of em and they are a pain in the ass to install because they come with parts you dont need and are missing ones you do need. but after you get em in, its worth every bit of trouble.

Re: tokico vs. koni

I had Tokico Illuminas and they were ok with Neuspeed Sports. But once I put the Skunk2 coilovers on them they blew within 3 months.

I'd go with Koni too (since I'm running them anyway)

Re: tokico vs. koni

Tokicos Illuminas are bad ass, Got em, love em, using 400 springs in front, and 300 in the rear on Ground Controls. 1/2" wheel gap, cobblestone everyday no problems. Your spring rates will affect the ride quality, and how long everything last a LOT more than people seem to want to admit.
