----Info and comparison between 3GT and Nissan 300ZX.-----

Hey guys, Im searching all over, checking out different cars cause I'll be 16 in few months. So far my choice so far is 1992-93 Nissan 300Zx 2+2 or Turbo. Now... Can anybody tell me about the 3Gt's .
How are they different than the Nissan 300Zx? besides the shape of the car ofcourse.
----------- compare the turbo with the turbo for the same year, and the Sl or base against the 2+2 and base of 300Zx of same year
-------------when answering, please specify which style your talking bout: Vr4, Sl, etc.------------
1) Are the 3GT better than the 300Zx? worse?? Why??
2) Faster, slower??
3) Longer Lasting ( After how many miles do they start to break down and problems begin???? <<<<<< please especially answer this one
4) Better/Worse Handling??
5) Better/Worse Milleage??
6) Better/Worse Acceleration??
7) More expensive to maintain??
8) More expensive to fix??
9) How much added horsepower can the stock car accept???
10) If I get a 1991-97 3GT, and get an exhaust, header, intake, How much more power will I get?
11) Hhow much nirtous can a stock car take with out any modifying??
12) Is insurance more expensive for this car??
Thanks to all those who answer those questions and try and teach me a little bout his car.

94 and up vr4's are faster than the 300zxtt. we have awd we can take over 700hp(wich a kid your age doesn't need)more hightech looking on the inside both have aws vr4's have back seats and are still twinturbo.

sl vs base z stock for stock depends on the driver

vr4 91-93 is 300hp
94-99 is 320hp

Any vr4 with a few hundred bucks will be at 400hp. They can take 700hp+, but after that, noone has really pushed the limits. This will cost you some money, and you probably really don't need that much. vr4 has AWD, all wheel steering, and tons of other gadgets. It's a great car, but also VERY expensive. Parts, insurance, gas, VERY high. Tons of people actually ask about them as their first cars, about one person a week, so you may want to search the last few pages of posts in this forum to find some more advice regarding that. Actually a guy compared these 2 cars before, so read that one.

They can last damn long if you treat them right. They are notorioius for having synchro problems in the tranny after awhile. Some say around 100k. Maybe less. Others have taken their cars to over 200k. Some rebuild engines and trannys. It all depends how well its treated by previous owner.
I have never lost to a 350z any model, and raced a few.
If you add intake/downpipe/ and exhaust, you might gain 10-20hp on a base or SL, on the turbos the exhaust is fine for now leave it alone unless you want the sound. Get an intake/downpipe/ boost controller and new boost gauge and you will be near 400hp at 14.5psi.
Lastly, don't put Nitrous in a 3000gt, it doesn't need it. If you want power do it right, build it. Nitrous is a crutch.

Your 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 is the 92nd out of the 315 that were made that year. Only 21 of which are exactly identical.

A proud owner of 300zx Turbo told me that....!! Nissan's turbos and ECU are not good. He experienced that alot with many 300zx.I don't know though.
