Aftermarket car system and Honda warranty

Hey guys I'ma bout to buy a civic that still ahs 2-3 years left on warranty now I'm worried that if I replace the audio system they will not honor the warranty if something were to happen under the hood. Anyone had any past experience? Thanks in advance.

Unless they can prove that some how whatever is wrong with it is directly caused by your replacing the system, they have to honor their warranty.

There has got to be something wrong with my dealer then...They told me any part I change that is not Honda will void the warranty especially if the engine is involved.

Re: Aftermarket car system and Honda warranty

allrite so you guys suggest I can em up then. I mean it's only one wire to the battery that will be run beside the engine. I'm worriued cause I read that Ford is very against this. I read a Ford authorized technician installed a new radio and a dealer still wouldn't honor once he saw the new radio installed.

Re: Aftermarket car system and Honda warranty

think your oil change is in order... haha.. but as for my dealer.. warranty is covered on any parts that are still OEM... they told me that if a probblem was caused by an OEM part then its covered... but for example, lets say the exhaust o2 sensors were to fail on my car, it wouldnt be covered cause my whole xhaust system is all aftermarket.... but lets say piston breaks or something like that.. then the dealer would fix it cause it is still stock on mines.. he also told me that its different from dealer to dealer... but the guy was helpful and said that if you still have the stock parts handy and soomething goes wrong... just swap back the stock and then they would consider the engine was stock.. nice guy
