you got a 4cylinder mustang???? All I can see is You poor bastard, I'm so sorry for your pain

how do you think you can make a 4cylinder mustang go faster? well, put in a v8 of course.... you ain't gonna get much out of a 4cylinder no matter what kinda 4cylinder it is coz the engine is just too small to move such a heavy car, you'd be better off getting a V8.

by the way, what year stang? and what model?? is it the mustang 2 from (i think 1970's)??
seriously, dump the 4 and get a V6 or V8.

i do beleive you have no idea what the fuck you are talking about.
first off, these cars arent heavy 4 cyl mustangs weighed about 2800lbs
second off, you dont need a v8 to go fast. there are plenty of 4 cylinder mustangs that i know of that can rape a v8. although these engines are out of 86-89 thunderbird supercoupes (turbocharged).
and thirdly, why the hell are camaro guys starting to come on to the mustang forums trying to give advice on shit they dont know about??

Re: I got a 4cyl. Mustang HELP!!!

either turbo or swap are your 2 only real good ideas i've never heard of n/a builds on that motor. Its a slow bugger my hatchback (70HP) when near stock could eat my buddys auto vert 4 banger. I say whats your budget cause that would be the limit of how crazy you can get with it.
So what do you wanta spend how crazy you wanta go?

Re: I got a 4cyl. Mustang HELP!!!

you cant turbo charge the 2.3L out of a mustang it just wont take the pressure, you have to do the swap. and id advise you doing the 2.3T swap instead of a 5.0 swap, because then you'll have to change out your suspension, wiring harness and it could get expensive.

well the reason I come onto the mustang forums sometimes is coz I love the stangs, even though i drive a camaro so what the F*ck are you guys being such @ssholes for????? I really don't see what i did wrong. He gave no info about what car he drove, what model or what year or whatever. I'm sorry but I didn't know there was a 4cyl 1992 mustang, first time i ever heard of this weird car since i'm not living in the U.S. , but thats really no cause for you guys to be so rude. I love mustangs and I almost bought one instead of the camaro a while back. I like to surf these forums to keep some knowledge and info in case i do buy one in the future.

Okay put it this way, to make a 4cylinder run as fast as the V8's how much does it cost in modification???? for that price of modification i'm sure you could get a V8 engine and gearbox and installation so i wasn't really wrong to suggest he go with a bigger engine transplant. Also, once again, there really is no need to be so rude. If i'm wrong and give out wrong information then i'm willing to accept it and apologise and learn from my mistake, but you guys are really unnecessarily rude. anyway, hope it made you feel like big men to insult me on the net, if we were face to face and you saw the size of me you'd be whistling a different tune let me tell you. sorry if i gave any wrong info 4 banger dude, i assumed wrongly that you had one of those older mustangs II's that had the 4cylinder in em. Thats why i asked what kind of model and car it was, but before i could reply back these guys got on my case.

looking back at my post now i can kinda see how you may have taken it as me flaming you, but thats not what i was trying to do. Anways good luck in whatever you do. check the net, theres quite a few good sites for building up 4cylinder mustangs.

Your best bet is to pick up a car with the v8 already in it. Much less work and you'll get better results with your mods. Plus there are more mods available for the V8. It'll sound a lot better too. There is no substitute for cubes!

Re: I got a 4cyl. Mustang HELP!!!

Dump the 4, dump the PCU. carb a 460 and runs 9's . Just kiddin, lol. Buy a 5.0 or swap for around $2500 reasonably. Thats including a slight rebuild (gaskets, seals, bearings, and rings) and thats doing everything right, no short cuts.
