In Dash 6 Disc Changer

Hey everyone. Got a mystery going with my stock JBL 6 disc changer in my 99 4runner. Last week it start to act kinda crazy with symptoms like going into fast forward, skipping, not playing, etc. However, if I switched off the ignition once and restarted the vehicle it would play.Now...it won't even try to read the discs. Kaput! I am wondering if Ne1 has experienced anything similar before I go out and drop cash on a new deck. Thanks!

Sounds like the typical problems on an old cd player. You got 5 years out of it, thats pretty good.
