Last night I installed my FIPK2 and cleaned my throttle body,also cleaned my MAFwithout screen (w/contact cleaner) the whole job took about 1hr, after what a difference!! at first it didnt feel much different but after about a half hour of driving I could feel the difference in Power. I swear My exhaust got a bit louder as well (could just be my imagination) before my throttle used to stick here and there and it operates much smoother.. Not only does the Intake look sweet but the sound and performance are well worth the money.. I wish I did it sooner! I think my next Mod will be a Hypertech.

OK, I thought it was just me. My exhaust seems louder since I cleaned the butterfly and removed the maf screen. I've got a drop in k&n now but I definitely want to try the fipk and the spacer for the throttle body.

buttnekked........... double check me but I'm pretty sure you can't use a throttle body spacer with the K&N FIPK. When installing the K&N kit I'm familiar with (#5730211), you must trim some of the fan shroud for clearance of the inlet tube.
If a throttle body spacer is used in conjuction with this kit, the blades of the stock cooling fan will hit the inlet tube. A way around this might be the use of an electric cooling fan.

K&N has a new kit I believe that uses a metal inlet tube (if one is available for the Silverado) and maybe this clearance situation has been addressed. Good luck!!

No. you cannot use a spacer with the FIPK..the intake tube fits against the fan shroud without it. If you interested in cutting your shround it might can be done, but also check for fan clearance so it doesn't hit the intake tube. I've seen a stock intake tube used in conjunction with a K&N heat shield and filter, and the spacer fit fine...go figure??

I have installed a K&N with a throttle body spacer. It did require the romoval of the stock fan and the trimming of the fan shroud. Also, with this combination you will have a sucking sound everytime you hit you gas at less than wide open. I personally like it, but some people don't. Just FYI.
