1977 Celica LT2000

im thinking of buying a 1977 LT2000 celica for a project car, i dont want the starndard 2lt engine in it i want something with more power, im just wondering if anyone knows what type of engine preferebly a toyota engine (supra, soarer) would fit into it etc.... i really like body shape and am thinking of going black with white mags on it, should look good. anyone got any ideas for it?

Re: 1977 Celica LT2000

Since your car is a 77 you can do a lot more in the way of engine swaps than the earlier celicas. You can fit a 7m, 1g, 1jz, or 2jz, all are supra motors. My personal recommendation is the 18rg, if you can find one, this rare toyota hemi is worth it! I just got on from a junk yard for $500, so it's not like their impossible to find, just a little harder... where are you located generally, North America?
