Airbox Opening
My cone filter is right infront of the hole from removing the airbox. Now I'm thinking of putting something under the front bumper where this hole is connected to, to redirect the air into the engine. Has anyone ever tried this before?

Re: Airbox Opening
You can pull out this plastic wall. This hole just gives the OEM airbox access from the fender to breath. You can take it out, I think the chetah tube goes all the way into the fender. If you read on http://www.intense-racing.com you should know that is not really good to have a long tube after the cone.

Yeah I've read that what I'm thinkin of is to attach an sloped piece of plastic under the fender to redirect more air coming from the front into the fender.

Re: Airbox Opening
Man if that is the case then why not. What the heck, the more air better for you. Somebody told me something about a Tornado that would reduce the turbulence on the cheetah 65%. Have you seen that?

Re: Airbox Opening
No but I got the Idea from a M3 bodykit. It had the same thing on both sides of the front bumper.

Re: Airbox Opening
Well if you do not get the tornado then do not install the cheetah, get the air deflectors to get more are flow to the cone.

Re: Airbox Opening
I'm not too sure what that turnado is. Are you talking about the thing that attaches to the throttle body?

Re: Airbox Opening
Yup, is like a computer fan that is static that will make the air flow into the TB like a screw so reducing the friction with the TB walls. Some people attahc it to the TB other just after the cone.

Re: Airbox Opening
Here are some pics of what i did.http://www.geocities.com/blackfordgs/GPGT.html
I had the K&N FIPK on my 98 Blazer that i used when i traded it in. The pics are a little distorted but it gives you an idea.

Re: Airbox Opening
Really, why. What happened. The guy that told me about it sensed a good fuel economy. He did not talked about performance but economy these days is not a bad idea after all. Here is the site, saw the thing in person at pep Boys today. http://www.tornadoair.com

Bummer, checked the site and the one that fits the GPGT98 is for NA engines only

Re: Airbox Opening
I have heard from lots of people that these tornados don't add any hp and sometime reduce the hp. The fuel economy is only effected in 80km/h+ speeds. Is the stock throttlebody screen meant to do the same thing? (Reduce friction with straightening the airflow)

Re: Airbox Opening
Auto World and Hot Rod mag tested the tornado (and a bunch of other devices) a few years back, the result - at best it saved a little gas mileage because it restricted the air flow into the TB, at worst it killed HP because it was a restriction in the intake track...Just what I remember.
