I have a 2000 beetle with the turbo engine. My battery died the other day and after I charged it the radio would not come on. The owners manual mentions that the word "SAFE" should show up on the display whenever the battery is disconnected but in my case the screen is blank and it appears there is no power to the radio at all. Does anyone know what fuse and where it is located that controls the radio? Is there anything else I could check?

I left the lights on accidently and it killed the battery. To get it going again I just jump started the same battery, never removed it. After it was charged I did disconnect it just too see if that would reset the radio but it did not work. I thought maybe I blew a fuse when I jump started it but there are so many fuses in that car I don't know which one to check and they are not labeled. I did check some of the 30 amp fuses and they all appeared to be fine.

Re: 2000 Beetle Radio Trouble
Yeah you probly blew a fuse when you jumped but i can't think of anything else???You might have to get it checked out it won't cost much if it's just a fuse.
