Tire Size

What is the biggest tire size (and rims) that I could put on a 97 Jetta GLS that will not affect the turning radius or the handiling of the car?

I work at a tire shop.. I know alot about tires and wheels... how much is it lowered if any??? And its really a matter of opinion as far as what YOU want... you and put on a 205-40-17 on.. down fall is LOW PROFILE, hit a pothole damage the wheel and tire!!!! i have a 97 vw jetta gt..SEVERAL mods.. i chose the 205-45-16 Still GREAT handling( but I do hace a 2" drop) cheaper tires not as prone to wheel damage.. 17's will slow your car down.. I mean if you really want you could put on 18's!! hope that gives you a insite on the situation...
