4l30-e
How many miles can I expect out of this tranny when proper maintenance is done and it is never driven hard? At 125K and counting.

I've seen reports of owners with around 200Kmi on their original 4L30E. I would say that is rare though. IMHO- 150Kmi is more realistic. These aren't terrible transmissions, but their are better ones out there!

Re: 4l30-e
Just got a '99 with 73K on it. Don't know if the tranny fluid was ever changed. Would you recommend a flush and fill which should replace 100% of the ATF or just dropping the pan and changing the filter which would replace 3 out of 9 qts? Or is there another option?

Re: 4l30-e
Have the pan dropped. And then in about 15k have it flushed.
