P1441 error code help?!
Does anyone know what this error code means. The books say something about a EVAP purge system. But i don't know where to start with diagnosising the problem.
Any help you guys can give me, would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks in advance, Brad

Thanks for the help 2Eye. Now where would a newbie like myself locate that purge valve on my trooper?? I am assuming i need to replace the purge valve with a new one?? or is it something that i can clean and put back on.
THanks for the help and patience with my newbie questions!!! Brad

Brad, check your gas cap as well. If you ever smell gasoline fumes around the fuel filler area, the check valve in your cap is probably bad. Your tank has to maintain positive pressure for the evap system to work. If the pressure bleeds down, you will get evap system codes. It's only around $3 for a new gas cap.
