Installing front speakers in 91 Corolla Wagon

I am trying to install 4" speakers in the front of my buddy's corolla, and when I pop the plastic speaker cover out, there is a metal grate in front of both of the speakers.. Anyone have an idea how to get the metal grate out of the way or some way to access the speakers.. Thanks a bunch,

You can remove them from the rear. Get under the dash and you can push the whole unit out. That's how I got my 4" pioneers in.

Thanks a bunch, worked great.... Installed the 4" speakers, ironically Pioneers with ease. I appreciate it.
