Well since we're on the topic of power adders, i was just wondering how much hp would i get approx from a k&n air filter and flowmaster exhaust pipes. I know it's not much, but i just want someone who knows lots to tell me approx what gain that would be. Like 5-10 hp? thanks

Ok, exhaust and chips are not power adders. Those are bolt on performance mods. Power adders are Nitrous or superchargers. Guys im not trying to be a smart ass but you should look into getting some subscriptions to MM and superfords or 5.0 These mags are exellent for basic mustang info.

Now I have a question. Why is it people go out and buy V6's and then get on the performace bandwagon? If you are worried about performance why buy a V6. Kdizzle the good news is yes all the mods you have listed will probably help. How much? Well I don't know I don't own a V6. As a matter of fact good luck finding someone on this forum that does. The bad news is if you put those mods on your car you will still get smoked by a bone stock V8 mustang and it won't matter what year it is either. I know you don't want to here this but save your money and get a V8.

Re: Power Adders

I raced a highly modified V6 this past weekend in my bone stock 94 5.0... started out at 90 b/c I guess he liked speeding so I had to catch him to race him.. we took off and I never began pulling on him till 4th gear around 120mph... I let off at 135 when the point was clear he couldn't hang... we did that twice, same outcome... then I made him slow to 45 for a 2nd gear start... I took off as soon as I saw him jump to race... I shifted to 3rd and pulled him pretty hard... I didn't get the chance to find out what all he had done but it sounded like a v8 with dual exhaust, full body kit, dropped with cobra rims... I know it wasn't an ordinary v6 b/c they normally don't even last after I dump the clutch... I actually give that v6 a lil respect but... it's no v8

*sigh* i just called it a power adder because that's what he was calling it. now can u please just tell me how much horsepower i would get from these two simple "modifications". (flowmaster exhaust, k&n airfilter)

Ok if you insist, if you do both maybe 10-15hp.

Re: Power Adders

Depends on the muffler itself and if you go with the k&n in the box or run cia. cia w/ 1 chambers & headers, I'd say maybe close to 25-30hp. hard to tell with a v6, no offense. but mufflers may give you 5hp if you keep stock restrictive and useless manifolds.

For some good mods on a V6 go to http://www.3.8mustang.com/
They have turbos, superchargers, headers, etc etc
