speedometer cable, bonneville, where is it connected at???

Where does the spedometer cable hook up to on a 95 bonneville? I looked uderneath but im not sure what it looks like or where it connects to, i think its connected to the tranny but im not sure where, anyone know? my speedometer dosnt work and i think thats also why my tranny is acting funny (i heard that if you disconect the speedometer on automatics that it makes it not want to shift right)

First there is no speedo cable... Its all electronic...

There is a VSS or Veichle Speed Sensor on the passenger side of the transmission... If this goes bad you will have no VSS signal to the PCM, and the trans may not shift at all... Might get stuck in limp home mode, I think that would be second gear...

But on the same note you really need to know if the VSS is the real problem.. I have seen a few PCM's get flakey.. Get a real time scan of the cars computer and see if the PCM is getting road speed signal from the VSS.. Also check all codes if any, seeing weather or not they relater to your problem.. Unplugging your VSS will leave you in the same ship you are in now..
