Re: barometric pressure sensor...pro help need!!!

In order to avoid the Random Misfire CEL and limp mode, you need to make the ECU think you are at about 6000 feet altitude. Thats a LOT It will require you to add about 30% back in with an AFC or similar to compensate, or you will be in very sad shape. If the car is not going into limp mode, you need to pull that code and make sure it the RM code, and not something else. 95% of the time though you will get the RM CEL problem with a 6 bolt swap, and this is why I dont recomend a swap to someone that doesnt have a AFC and datalogger, or even better, DSMlink....

And by the way, the Baro signal should never be changed to try to improve perdormance. Just trust me on that.

Re: barometric pressure sensor...pro help need!!!

Thats the one I was refering to. 290 is about the going rate for a new one. I used it for years, and with my swap in the beginning. I eventually upgraded to dSMlink though, which has a much nicer solution to the RM CEL issue (doesnt lie to the ECU about altitude).

If you have a 95 I STRONGLY suggest DSMlink for anyone with a swap. A palm/logger, chip, and AFC will cost the same or more than DSMlink and a 50-100 dollar laptop. If you have to buy a EPROM ECU for your non-eprom equiped car, then you might have an argument. But I still feel its well worth the extra 200-250 for the ECU to run DSMlink, especially with a 6 bolt swap.

Re: barometric pressure sensor...pro help need!!!

When the ECU sees a random msifire it will put the car into a low power "limp mode." Essentially it leaves you enough power to drive around and get home but thats about it. After resetting the code, and restarting the car, it will go back to normal.
