Completed 1958 Edsel Pacer 'Melissa'

I give you 'Melissa', a '58 Edsel Pacer. AMT/ERTL 1:25 scale, Kit #30032-1HD

This was a fun kit to build. This may very well be the best kit AMT/ERTL ever produced. All the colors used are what Ford used in 1958, body and engine. I tried very hard to match everything exactly, downloading hundreds of photos of the '58 Pacer from the web. I will post a photo of a '58 Edsel Pacer, on a lawn that is the exact color scheme as soon as I get it off the laptop and upload. I hope you enjoy the pics as much as I enjoyed the build.

You got that right Matt. I imagine 99% of AF has never seen The Edsel and wouldn't know one if it drove over their Enzo :P

And Thanks! It was really a fun build.

Thanks! My next project is a 1:20 scale "Gazelle RS-X", a Nissan Hatchback Turbo . It's from a company in Japan called LS. I got it from a guy in Korea. It has an engine and working lights. I'm going to put a rocket engine in it and see how far and fast I can get her to go down RT 139. I'm thinking she'll do about a 2s quarter. Look for the video

Thanks man! I'll be doing as much as I can, as often as I can. My eyes are old and I'm wicked slow...but consistant. I have a few fun builds sitting on my bench that I'm dieing to get started.

Re: Completed 1958 Edsel Pacer 'Melissa'

Well I must not be part of the 99% that have never saw a Edsel. I own a 1959 Edsel Ranger, with a 223 inline 6. Great car all the way around. I was reading some posts on the ugliest cars, and someone put Edsel, any year. Talk about someone who likes things made of tin. The Edsel didnt fail because of style or performance, it failed because of a thing we call a ression. Go look in your history books boys and girls, and when you finally know a little something about the Edsel, then I will listen to ya, untill then...thanks for making me laugh! And as far as that kit goes, I like it, it looks really good!
