Upper Ball Joint Replacement (Recall)
First, I just want to make sure everyone knows that GM did recall a lot of blazers for the ball joint separation. They will replace them if you havent already done so or they will reimburse you if you have already had them done. They wrote me a check for part of the cost since I have already done them. Anyhow, my question is this. Directed to anyone who has replaced the ball joints themselves. This last time I replaced them, I noticed after completion of the job that I mounted the collar of the upper balljoint to the bottom side of the knuckle instead of the top side of the knuckle on the driver side. I dont want to take it back apart and re do it again, does anyone know if this will cause any problems?

Re: Upper Ball Joint Replacement (Recall)
Regarding the recall. What years of blazers does it affect?

Re: Upper Ball Joint Replacement (Recall)
1996-1997 was recalled that I know of. Others may have but I didnt do much looking into that.

If I understand what you are saying, you will upset at least the camber setting for that side..

Re: Upper Ball Joint Replacement (Recall)
thats what i wasnt sure of. I guess its less than 1/16th of an inch off so I just dont know if it will affect much. I was more concerned that it may break free since the pulling force comes from underneath.
