Where Did the Oil in My GS-t GO?!?!
hey guys. the other day i went in for an oil chance and they told me i had little to no oil in the car. they checked around and couldnt find any trace of a leak. now i do find to have some oil where the spark plug wires connect (under the mitsubishi cover on the engine that everyone takes off cuz of heat) where is the oil leak coming from and i was thinking might it be cuz i do a lot of hard highway driving and dont really leave my turbo much chance to cool down??? HELP

Sounds like a valve cover gasket leak if there is oil in your plugs. But a leak like that alone shouldn't make you lose that much oil...

Re: Where Did the Oil in My GS-t GO?!?!
the turbo will burn oil, but not THAT much. I've heard many many stories about dealerships only putting in 1 qt by accident and the poor person driving around for 3000 miles before even checking it. So that could have happened. You should check your oil about once a week from now on just as a heads up. As far as the leak goes, It could be a gasket, or a bad seal on your cap maybe? Mine was leaking like a stuck pig from the crankcase, but I doubt very highly you have anything like my leak. Hopefully your mechanic can figure out where it is if there is one, and they'll fill you back up. just keep an eye on the oil level and look around for a leak after drivin her hard. also, you may wnat to invest in a turbo timer if you don't have the time/desire to wait for the turbo to cool. it's only like 100 bucks, and would probably be in your interests. Good luck!

Re: Where Did the Oil in My GS-t GO?!?!
It is possibel that you have some very bad valve stem seals. This could cause you to burn off quite a bit of oil. Leave it for a month and you could be down a liter ot 2 easy.
Had a honda like that, thing went through so much oil. Hated that thing. O well, just make sure to check your oil regularly, best thing to do is check it whenever you fill up on gas.

Kind of off topic
Im not to sure about the oil but, something kind of off topic, you might really want to invest in a turbo timer like Import2nr99 said. If you dont like to wait a minute or so to let it cool down you can wrek your turbo. What happens is the oil cools your turbo down from spinning so fast. If you just shut off your car without letting it cool down the oil flow to the turbo stops. The turbo is hot enough that when the same oil sits in it it starts to absorbe the heat and your oil littearly turns into powder. That powder in there doesn't let fresh oil get to where it needs to go the next time you start your car and kills your turbo. It won't happen the very first time you don't let your turbo cool down but if you keep doing it the right conditions will fry it.
