air filter, brake and coolant flushes???
Hi all,
I know almost nothing about cars, except to drive them. I have an Acura Integra 2000. I bought it new and so far I've put 51000km (32000 miles) on it. I went for my last maintainence service at 48000km, where they recommended changing the air filter, brake and coolant flushes.
I didn't have these recommendations done because they were so expensive, about CAD$570 (US$420). Plus my lease will be over by the end of July 2004 so I really don't want to spend so much on the car now.
I'm wondering if I really do need to change these air filter and brake and coolant flushes? or is it just some $$$ grabbing idea from the car dealership?
I'll be driving 4 long trips this May 2004, about 900km each trip, so that's about 3600km in total. Will problems arise with long trips where the car runs/drives for 9 hours straight with an hour rest halfway, when I don't change these flushes thing? I just really do not want to pay an extra $570 to drive an extra 3600km plus maybe only 2000km for the local driving for the trips and for months of June and July 2004.
I hope you guys can give me some opinions on this.
Thanks.
Helen
