Re: squeaky hatch
There is a small rubber bumper on the inside lip of the hatch, 1 on each side. Screw those out some and see if it helps. If not there are two metal shims underneath the locking mechanism on the hatch...take em out. After they are out you'll have to shut the hatch pretty hard to get it to lock...my hatch hasn't squeak since I did it a month ago.

I have the same problem and what your saying seems to fix it, but which two shims are you talking about? I can't seem to find them. If you could take a picture, I bet that would help incredibily!

Re: squeaky hatch
On the hatch there is a loop. The lock on the car catches the loop that is on the hatch. Between the base of the loop and the hatch is where the two 1/8" shims are located. Loosen the two mounting screws on the loop and the shims will slide out

Thanks man. I see what your saying. I just first need to get those god forsaken bolts off, they won't budge.

Re: squeaky hatch
before taking out the shims.. just try to readjust the rubber stubs on the hatch. they're located under the "honda" and the "dx or si" emblems. if you look closely, you could screw it out a little to create some pressure so the hatch won't budge that much

Re: squeaky hatch
Actually, the bodyshop guy that I got my car repaired said the squeaking that I'm hearing is from the rear bumper. He tighten the bolts and it actually stopped........till I hit a huge pot hole and boom, it starts up again. But hey, it's just a suggestion.

Re: squeaky hatch
Take off the bolts, go to your local hardware store. Look for locking bolts that fit and are the same size as your old ones. This should put a final end to all of your problems.

Re: squeaky hatch
you can wrap the body latch for the hatch in electrical tape

Re: squeaky hatch
The electrical tape thing doesn't work at all. I taped it good too, maybe half a normal roll. It will not solve your problems
