Reverse RPM Dip

After the engine is warm and I put it in reverse, the engine drops then picks back up. Car idles around 900rpm, put in reverse and tach bounces to near 0 then up alittle then back to near 0 then back to 900...all happens fairly quick. Car backs up fine, no unusual noises. Reverse lights work, replaced main relaya month ago. Car has done this ever since the first turn of the key on the 2 month old swap.

Re: Reverse RPM Dip

so, does the engine actually go to 0 rpm or does the tach just go to 0 rpm? ur car wouldn't be running when you put it in reverse if it dropped to 0 rpm

Re: Reverse RPM Dip

The tach drops alot and the idle drops alittle. The two codes I have are fuel injector (all injectors measure 2ohms, noid light lights up on all 4 of the connectors) and tps. I have always had the fuel injector code since day one. Didn't get tps til i tried to hookup vtec indicator light...i unwired the vtec light the same night I tried it. Couple other bugs like no horn(sometimes it kinda moans like a sick cow) and door bell is intermittant but I dont see where any of those bugs point to the reverse rpm/idle dip crap.
