tranny mount?
i just had the tranny mount in my 97 (5 speed) replaced. quite often, i can still see and feel the shifter moving around (up and down). is this my tranny mount? or is it something else wrong? is it anything serious?

Re: Re: tranny mount?
I have a friend that has a 99 6 cyl 5 speed that does the same thing.
Maybe the new motor mount is defective? |

Re: tranny mount?
well he didnt replace the motor mount, but that could be it, your engine/trans are a unit on a tripod essentially, two engine mounts and a trani mount, if you replaced the trans mount, take a look at the engine mounts and see if they are shot as well. i really cant think of a trans problem that would allow the shifter to move, when does it do it?? like can you just pull it up and down when the engine isnt running and your sitting still? or does it move when you hit a pothole or go over a speedbump??
