Lightbulb Information about the 4G94 motor...

I have just bought brand new CH VR-X 4dr Lancer, and i was just wondering about poeples opinion on the 4G94 motor. I have future plans of running a Stage 2 Turbo, with of course engine modifcations. But how well do these engines last under pressure? Comments/suggestions??

Re: Information about the 4G94 motor...

Well at the moment money isn't a issue for this. Its going to be a long term project, i just want some information or suggestions. I was thinking a supercharger but i have done more reasearch into the turbo, might have to look up on superchargers.

I also have a 4sp S.A. Transmition, I didn't really know if this gearbox would be ideal for what i have planned, any one with experience on these, are they good stock or would i need to spend money on it?

Post reply turbo 4g64

hey like the turbos on RRMotorsports are good way to go but rippmods has a supercharger kit also supposively safer then turbo i talked to him he said like u can put it rite on the engine 6-10 hours work but i would recommend upgrading the clutch first , put in a RRM LSD (limit slip Differential) to lock the wheels when u hit the boost points and swaybars so u dont screw u frame up im planning on doing my car up and fininshing it within the next 6-12 months supercharged in all if u would like me to keep u posted i also would reccommend headers and exhuast sytem so u dont lose hp the block is an Iron block so ur all good with that similar to the Talon and Eclipse its just a new block design but the iron block is good better then those honda acura aluminum blocks with mods i listed u should be able to do between 4-6 grand and have a car thats got more torque an horsepower then a EVO at a fraction of the cost and safer to the block the only differnce is EVO AWD VS Lancer Front wheel so u mite smoke, spin tires alot more well there u LATER

Thanks for the information, and yes i would like to be kept upto date with your plans! This motor seems to be good, it loves to redline its just were all the power is at, im starting to get some good ideas for my car. I have ordered 18x7" Ozzy Wheels which look awesome, and I have plans to get the Droid 2 body kit, I can't really do much else because of warranty reasons.

Re: Information about the 4G94 motor...

if your going to do any engine work like a turbo or supercharger then you are going to have to do a lot of work to make it last. the pistons and valves on the 4G94 motor are crappy and you will break things real quick. also it is only single overhead cam and if you are going turbo then you are going to take a long time to spool up unless you get a turbo timer and boost controler with it.
