Motor Trend's Coverage of Detroit Auto Show....SWEET!!

Stolen from MotorTrend's website:

2004 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VII
After teasing appearances at auto shows and months of speculation, the Lancer Evolution VII has finally been confirmed for sale in the United States beginning spring 2003. This extreme, motorsports-tuned Lancer variant features a sophisticated all-wheel-drive system, lightweight body pieces, and ferocious powerplant in pureblood Japanese form. The American market can expect the rally-bred sedan to make the trip almost entirely intact, with the exception of the 276-horsepower output: while that figure was originally thought to be reduced to 250 due to emissions and intercooler packaging issues, sources now say it will have at least 260 horses. Price is promised to be under $30 , which puts this ultra-sports sedan in elite performance company. Expect Subaru is to counter with its potent WRX STi.

Sounds pretty sweet to me boys....looks like the only exception is the hp, but that's still up there....and with that being the only exception...it means they're bringin over the ACD and AYC!!! :evillaugh

Have fun ladies!!

P.S.- thanks to bioyuki over at lancerforums fer finding this

Opened myself to you, only to have the door shut. trapped in seclusion, inside this enclosure i find the real meaning of loving myself. Hurt from the force of your attack, but no more, never again. I would have given the world to you, but you were just too good for that. You brush me off and i only try harder, yet i refuse to be a part of your game this time. I dont hear you, your words, invisible, nothing but space to my eyes. You extend your hand, but i pretend not to see it, just like you pretended not to acknowledge me. Life sucks, thank you for making mine all the more clearer. Welcome to my world.

Talking

The cool thing about detuned turbo cars is that the power can be regained pretty easily. Usually with just a remapping of the ECU, or just turn up the boost. Just look at what www.cobbtuning.com can do for your average 227hp WRX. So let them bring it with 260, and lets see how long mine stays there.

Intact???

If the only thing they're doing is lowering the horsepower, I'm the happiest little boy in the land!! (except for not being able to have my evo yet)

and the next spring release date will give me plenty of time to make the money I need to get the car and put mods on right away. All I need to do is start slingin' rock and robbing schoolchildren again...

I'm in the same situation....I have to pay off (or come close) the car that I ahve right now, so that my monthly payments on my Evo aren't insanely high.

Wink

I know that they only tune Impreza's, but the point I was trying to make was that if they can do that with an Impreza, what can we do with our EVO'S!!!!!! No big deal though, I just think that they need to push up the date a little.

wicked man. cant wait to go for a test drive
i hate the government with their emission crap. whats polluting our planet is the old crappy american v8s. they eat up so much gas and polute so much. driving behind them makes you feel like fainting because the gas smell is so horrible. the government should do something about that. i know automobile is the ultimate transportation, but we can make our planet a lot cleaner if we take off cars the road that polutes as much as three cars.

Exactly. This will allow me to do that and have money already saved up for parts when I get it. I'll have a pile of parts on my living room floor during my break-in period, just waiting to get put in my monster
