1991 S-10 4.3L Fuel Injectors not working

Ok,

Here is the deal.

I replaced the fuel pump, relay, ICM, Coil and the Oil Pressure switch.

Everything is getting power, and oh, I replaced the Fuel Regulator kit as well.

The injectors get power, but they do not squirt fuel.

I looked at the scematic and I cannot see anything but the ECM ( computer) that controls this.

Am I missing something other than the last thing of replacing the computer in the thing?

PS. I do NOT have any blown fuses, checked that already.

Any help PLEASE

The injectors have +12v whenever you turn the key to run or start.

How they 'flash' is that the ECM supplies a ground at proper times.

If you are not then either the ECM is bad, or it is not being told when to flash. The ECM picks up an RPM signal from the Ign system - and it might not be.

Try talking to the ECM with a scan tool and see if it is aware of RPM while cranking.

Re: 1991 S-10 4.3L Fuel Injectors not working

Hey there again!!

I replaced all the ignition parts and still nothing.

I am assuming that when you say talk to the ECM, to plug a computer into it and see if the thing reads the RPM level.

I think I am going to replace the ECM, it only seems to be $100.00.

I cant think of anything else.

I know there is NO pulse to the System, as I checked it with a niod light.

So, the only thing that I can see in the book is the ECM controling the pulse not working correctly.

Thanks again pal, your wonderful to get help from!

Paul

What is the part number it should start with 16 something and end in either 455 or 288?

I need the 288 ( california ) ecm. I think? or would it work if I took the PROM chip out of mine and replaced with yours?

What you asking for it?

Thanks!

Was there a solution found for this problem?
I see the last post was in April.
