Question car shakes during acceleration

Help, my '92 Celica has just started to shake when I accelerate. It is fine in the lower speeds but between 40-65 mph when I step on the peddle the entire car starts to shake. The steering wheel doesn't shake at all, and when I let off the gas or am at cruising speeds the car is fine. Any ideas?

Re: car shakes during acceleration

check your carb settings for the throttle see if all thats good, cuz i had that problem with my 89 f-150 and a cable attachment to the carb was cracked, then check timing, but carburator would be my first check. if you cant fix it take it to napa, or autozone if theres one around

bad rear tire balance could cause that too, have someone follow you and have them see if your rear tires bounce at all, that was a problem with my friends car.. And would a 92 really have a carb on it?

Stock your right there was no carb but a lot of people are getting engines from LCEngineering that are older engines to swap into their cars, but I highly dout someone did it to a 90's model..

Dude, had that same problem with my first celica. Mine was a broken motor mount. Easy fix.

yeah, my car does that too. Between 60-80 mph the car shakes. I say it is the balance of the tires but really not sure.

rofl, check your allignment, duh.

motor mounts only has to do with your engine moving back and forth when accelerating and de-accelerating
