Gosh I love AWD

I met up with some of the crew at AF (redneck 383, fatninja, and others). We actually stayed quite late (I'll let them post the specifics of the meet, and chie in afterwards). Anyways, I decided to finally see what it's like to launch my little EVO. I revved that sucker up to a little over 4000 rpms (Probably about 4300 rpms), and let out the clutch. I almost hit my head against the headrest, cause the car shot forward like a projectile. If I had to guess that was atleast a 2.0 sec. 60' or below. SICK!!!!!! Of course I smelled clutch immediately afterwards, but the rewards are knowing that you have the holeshot in a race. I can't wait to race a RWD car w/o slicks at Speedway Maybe Fatninja will race me there. Better yet a vid to boot as well.

Shit you're already home?

Me and (big) Dave flew home down the 210/605 freeways 85-90mph all the way.

Made it back in 35 minutes.

I had fun, I know the Z guys liked meeting up with some people other than Z owners. It gets boring talking about the same cars over and over again.

We'll have to plan out another meet, that was too fun. Although we didn't do anything but look and point at each others cars. It was fun none-the-less.

I think the highlight of the evening was talking to the Sheriff deputies who came to In-n-Out for grub. Everybody got nervous at first then we got to talking to them and they were asking lots of questions about the cars. Cool guys, We all had a good laugh when the younger deputy mashed out in his Crown Vic down the street.

1 minute turbo countdown? pff My shit was off before I stopped infront of my house. Halfway down the street... It's all about that stealthy approach to your house to not wake anybody up.

Dave? In the Silver 280zx?... Doh, I wish I was able to see you launch. I was too busy jockeying my Z out of the parking space. That 'tard in the Taurus pulled in behind me as I was trying to back out. I was like "wtf?" and had to work extra hard just to get out.

Stupid no power steering.

Re: Gosh I love AWD

Yeah, it was Dave in the 280 that saw me. The guy in the M3 was still in the lot (Fatninja was lost btw, I saw him driving in circles on the street).

Nah, I doubt he was that type of cop. Him and his partner showed up to In-n-Out for grub. And I was standing taking pictures and he asked me what we were doing. I told him just takin some pictures of our cars. I told him we're a 'car club' from AF. He was cool. He drove a SS Camaro and we were talking about racing on the track (of course).

The meet started at 10pm. I didn't get there till like 11pm due to some friends and traffic delaying me. But it was all good. We all pulled out at like 2am.

Re: Gosh I love AWD

Yeah Pasadena is the land of one way streets. It's really easy to get lost there. I wanna go to the track. BTW my car wasn't all that cold.
