gas meter

ok well lately ive been noticing something wrong with my gas meter. i have a 99 gp gt and like ill start the car and lets say it says i have half a tank. and i go and give it some gas driving speed limit and then brake at a stop light, the meter drops down some. like ever when i brake slowly to a stop the meter drops alot. and then like if i turn off the car and re start it the meter will go back to where it was last time, unless i have been driving for awhile then goes up to where ever after the used gas... but sometimes when i drive and it drops, it will go up a little every once and awhile. has anyone had this same problem, or know whats wrong? thanks.

Re: gas meter

i have the same problem...it reads the gas level correctly for me...its just that there isn't enough gas in there to keep the needle where it should be...i think my gas module has something wrong with it tho, bcuz the gas light turns on even when i have a full tank and stays on for a while, then goes out, then after a lil while comes back on...this is while im driving...i kno its supposed to turn on for a sec or two when the car first starts, but mines not like that...o well

Re: gas meter

oh ... hrmm yaeh i think in mine its the sensor in the tanks.. cause like today i was 2 slashes under half and ill go out my drive way down to the street stop to turn and the needle will be down to quarter. but then if i turn the car off then back the needle goes back up. and sometimes when it drops and im still driving it will sometimes go up a little. from where it dropped.

Re: gas meter

does it drop when ur just driving straight? like not changing ur speed only a little if not at all? because mine does that...i just keep drivin because i dont let my tank get below half empty if i can help it...because once it does the needle goes all the way to empty if i drive off from a light...not even drivin hard...like i have the pedal maybe halfway down and the needle drops big time...
