how?!?!?

I cannot believe it! I lost a mudflap! yeah! How the hell do you lose one of those? I just went to wash and wax my car today (indian summer) and WTF I say, where's my mudflap!

I was wondering, can you get just one? Or do you have to buy 2? or 4 even?

Or does someone have a spare? It's my front right (looking from back of the car to the front).

This is so weird! Can anyone help me

Save time and money, loose the other one. They promote rust and bodyrot around the area.

I agree with the rocketeer, get rid of the other mud gaurd. They don't really gaurd your car from mud either, and the car looks cleaner (in my opinion) without them.

Or just check out a local junk/wrecking yard. I'm sure they'll sell you one. I doubt they cost much.

are you serious? rust and bodyrot! Thats rediculous!

And I don't mean to be a jerk, but mudflaps are the single best paint protection you can buy! The guy who had it before me didn't have them, and right behind the wheels, in exactly the spot that the mudflaps protect, were a gazillion dings and chips. After I got the mudguards, I've gotten none. They save paint and protect against bodyrot in the area. I normally thought Swonder and Rice-Rocketeer were pretty knowlegeable, but I've had my car over a year and those mudflaps you're telling me to lose are the single best mod I've done!

Now that I've blown off a little steam, I think I'll head on over to a junkyard and see what I can find. Thanks GhettoLegs, that's a great idea!

Thanks for the offer, CivicEX95, but Portland Oregon is a little ways away from Arkansas, lol

I don't really care to have one shipped cross-country, I can get one at the Honda place for what it'd cost me to ship it.

I don't have them and I don't ANY dings and chips. And most of the cars that I've seen with them have serious rust and body rot problems, Ironically enough, originating from the mud flaps. Of course this depends on where you live. But I want you (Especially in the north) to look at the civics that have had mudguards FROM THE FACTORY and tell me that the years of accumulated dirt, mud and rocks behind them don't harm the paint and promote rust. Car bras give the same exact same effect, the accumulation of moisture and dirt over a long time is never a good thing for your car.

Body rot is the slow degredation of the metal body panels. 1 year is HARDLY enough time to see the damage they can cause.

I dunno of the body rot and rust is caused by the mud flaps, because, after all, that IS where all the salt and sand gets kicked up to after a snow storm. So i think if you live where I am, mud flaps or not, the place where you're gonna start rusting would be right by the wheel well where the salt and sand kicks up. I just don't think the mud gaurds protect the car that much, and they I don't think they look good either.

Take em off and you'll see the crap underneath!
After hearing of this a while ago, I now take them off every once a while to clean that area and put them back on because I need them.

hmmm....

I did look at some pics of cars from up north with mudguards and it does look as if you are right. Snow is just something a southerner doesn't think of much. When it snows here, we just don't go anywhere. Everything closes, and we wait it out. If you HAD to drive in the snow alot, all the salt would rot out any area where its allowed to set for years. hmm. Car bras I know are bad, that's pretty obvious. I however need my mudguards. Maybe they don't work for you, but they are $$ savers for me. Sorry if I blew up you all, I was just flabbergasted that I could lose one of those and not even know it! As for looks, well, that's an opinion and we all know what those are like....

That is why, when I have mine on, I take them off every time i wash my car. If you dont, nasty grime and dirt gets behind them.

Word to the wise.. wash the mudguards!
