Can anyone tell me how to replace or remove the small plunger switch that is located on the passenger side of the dash. This small black plunger switch is not working when the door is opened, and I need to replace or repair it. Can't see any obvious way to get at it from the back side or bottom of the dash.
I assume this is one of those quick, pop it in from the outside, install type fittings with hooks on it, but don't want to force or break it. Thanks for any suggestions...

if you can reach from the bottom of the dash you can get to it but you have to REALLY want to, it tore my arm up pretty bad, but you can yank it with a needle nose too, the part is only 5 bucks from chevy and you just need to disconnect the two wire lead on the end of it its a five minute job, i replaced both on my 99 tahoe.

Thanks JD, I'll give it a shot. I know this is a pretty common failure, as I have heard many people complaining about it... Just never heard anyone say how the pulled the switch. I think I will go the needle nose route, and just have the new switch ready and waiting!
