98 Villager air conditioning problems

My air conditioner stops blowing cold air after slowing down or stop-starting in traffic. Seems to do fine as long as speed doesn't go below 45 or so. Has been serviced 4 times without duplication of the problem(don't think they drove it in real traffic). Already changed the compressor. What could the speed of the van possibly have to do with the air conditioner temp? The fan stays on, but the air turns to room temp and sometimes if you get a burst of speed the cold air will start again! Any suggestions? Thanks....it's getting hot in the South!

Sounds like you may have a vacuum problem.......hose or two may be broken...I don't think this is it but check your heater control valve, it may be letting in coolant which then mixes in making it warmer.....check all vac hoses anyways

I had the exact same problem. The dealership couldn't fix the problem either. Then one day I was under the hood with the engine running and decided to wiggle the wire connector on top of the compressor. When I did, I heard to compressor kick on and the a/c started working again. I pulled the connector out about 1/8 to 1/16 of an inch and left it there. It has worked ever since and that was almost 2 years ago. I hope this helps.
