Wiper prob on 96 Jetta

My wipers work fine for the most part, but sometimes my switch wont turn off the wipers. I can switch it to intermitent, off, on and fast, but when it sticks it will only go on and wont turn off or slow down no matter what the position of the switch is in.

hey im have kinda the same problem with my 94 jetta only mine only work on high and if i take it off of high they just stop where ever they are....ive been told that its most likely the realy or the switch its self...so u might wanna try replacing one or both of those...if it works let me know
