Help with anti-theft system!

Hi,

I am new to this forum and new to the world of the LS. I just bought a 2001 V8 sport and am having a little problem with the anti-theft system. I use the remotes to get into the car use the programed key to start and the light just blinks rapidly and no go. I wait about a minute with the key to run position and it starts? If this was a rare occasion I don't think I would worry about it but it has happened everytime I left the car today. Any suggestions on trouble shooting or can I turn off this anti-theft system.

I can tell you that the system is passive; it will arm whenever you lock the doors. I would suggest taking it to a Lincoln dealership. That blinking light probably indicates either a problem with the system or a past "theft". You will likely need the dealer to reset or repair it. Alternatively, you could have it disabled and/or replaced with an aftermarket system. Personally, I can't justify the added cost...
