95 S10 has fuel in oil

I have a '95 S10 with a 4 cyl. fuel injected engine in it. I am getting gas in the oil. Within one week of changing the oil (about 200 miles of driving), the oil level has risen by about a quart. It looks to be thinned out and has a strong gas smell. Any ideas has to how the gas could be getting into the oil. The fuel pump is located in the tank and was changed about a month before I started having this problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

you could verify that by checking the compression on each cylinder, i dunno how else fuel would get into the oil unless you fuel injection rail is broken and the block has a hole in it and its shooting gas into your motor but thats a one a million chance

Hey RR thanks for the post. Compression is good and the engine runs ok, except for a little miss in it. I changed the plugs and there was no oil fouling. I am thinking something with the fuel injection, but I am not familiar with how the fuel injection system works on the s10.
