choosing head lights

ok....so I got these projector headlights of ebay for my 95 civic ex. The things looked awsome on my car and unlike that I've heard..the lights were plenty bright enough. However, the pieces of shit have burned out both my low beams and one of my high beams after only 1 month! WTF? The lights came wired to a harness that hooked up with the other half of the stock harness. Is there a way to wire them so they don't burn out? Maybe throw a resistor in there somewhere? Or are they just pieces of shit and I should look for some other lights? If so, what are some good lights that will look cool and NOT burn out? anyways, if anyone could help me out, I'd appreciate it!
