Clear Corner ?'s For 03 Tib

First of all that whole AF shutting down sucked ass for a minute

Now...a friend of mine at work told me that you can remove the orange lenses on the corner of the headlight on the 03 tib. Is this true? and how do you do it?

Re: Clear Corner ?'s For 03 Tib

I also wanted to add....I seen a tib with a carbon fiber lip. Does anyone know where to get this, and I also want some nice sideskirts that arent too overkill.

well, i know you can actually make your own clear corners out of the stock ones for the 00-01 tibs. maybe its similiar.

get a long screwdriver and needle nose pliers. carefully crack the amber reflector off the clear casing. then break it apart into little chunks with the needle nose pliers and remove out of the bulb hole.

or maybe you can open up the whole headlight assembly to get to them. stick it in the oven on low, and slowly increase the temp until you can pull the glue apart.

I made my clear corners from the stock headlamp assembly....

Use a hot gun (or a hair dryer) to heat up the joint between the clear plastic and the rear section of the headlamp assembly

Take a razor blade and cut the adhesive that holds the two pieces together (do this by sliding the razor blade between the two pieces)

Once you've cut all the way around pry the two pieces apart with your hands. It helps to have a second person. You'll have to apply a great deal of pressure so don't think you're going to break it.

When you get the two pieces apart the orange lense inside will fall right out.

Using black RV silicone to seal the joint, press the two pieces back together and hold together with duct tape. Allow to dry for 4-6 before putting the headlamps back on your car. DON'T BE STINGY WITH THE SILICONE. If you don't get a good seal you WILL get moisture build up inside the headlamp assembly which not only will look nasty but can shorten the life of your bulbs.

Enjoy. For pictures of the end result see my profile.
