Question IAC valve ???

Can anyone tell me where the IAC valve is located. I was told that it is located on the throttle body.I have a 1995 camry v-6 engine and i took it to the dealership because the car idle was very rough. The tech told me that it was my Intake air control. The cost for the part is 325.00 i checked with advance auto parts and the price for the part was about the same as what the dealer quoted.I was reading somewhere that you can take off the IAC valve and clean it with a strong cleaner and put it back on and it will work just fine. Can anyone advice me if this is true. and also tell me what the part looks like. Is there a site that I can go to and look at a picture of the IAC valve for the 1995 v-6 engine?

Re: IAC valve ???

The IAC valve is located under the throttle body. There is some good info in the Haynes manual for these models.

Re: IAC valve ???

Try a bottle of Techron in the fuel tank before you do anything. You may simply have a dirty fuel system or gummed up injectors.

Re: IAC valve ???

true, iac is under throttle body, plastic square with two screws, take out screws and will see round shaft, turn shaft and should feel it binding , spray some lube until free, when installing , do not tighten all the way, idle is affected to where you tighten it, check your manual
