The end of AutomotiveForums.com

Ladies and gentlemen,

It is with my greatest regret that I write this.

AutomotiveForums.com has been online since November of 2000 - well over 3 years. In our time, AF has grown from being a small site struggling to gain new members to a website that is overflowing with wonderful people from various countries around the world. On our journey, we have had our ups and downs, this current 'down' is unfortunately way below the waist.

AutomotiveForums.com will officially shut down on April 5th, 2004. The domain name, in remembrance of the great website that it has grown to be, will remain held and unavailable.

I wish I had been keeping a running list of people I would like to thank for this inopportune moment. But... I had never in my wildest dreams thought this day would come.

I want to thank everyone that I have come in touch with over the past years through AF for your help, advice, assistance, and everything else.

I cannot write any longer as it brings forth too much pain.

We hope that you will remember AF as a great community that was once the strongest online, truly "connecting the auto enthusiasts" of all kinds.

It's been an incredible ride. I hope everyone has enjoyed it as much as I have.

Man, I really hope that this isn't any kind of a joke. It isn't even that funny. Let's all hope that it don't happen, and if it really is going to happen, let's try our hardest to keep AF.com from shutting down. It's been the best place for enthusiasts to gather and share online. If it has to go, it's a shame.

I heard a rumor that Igor had been in an auto accident in the AF-350Z and is in the process of some kind of a lawsuit???? Anyone know more about this? I tried PM'ing Igor but I guess he is very busy trying to deal with whatever is causing the shutdown.

i am almost tempted to pull the bs flag because that says it was posted only a few min. into april fools day (not april my time ). then again, why are all of these people saying it is true? and why is no one explaining? and if it was a money issue (what the heck else could it be?) why was there no warning links like "donate or the forums will die" ?

it all smells a bit fishy to me but i am still scared. i was just starting to settle in here and have some fun. i bet this is bs though.
