are your delsol seats hurting your back?

I thought my seats were cool when i first got this car 9 months ago. But one thing has been bugging me. Are your delsol seats hurting your back too?

Also if you have the vtec model. Does your car rev real high on the highway? Its cool but it makes me uncomfortable. I know my uncles s2000 revs real high on highway but thats a s2000

On the contrary, I happen to think that del Sol seats are some of the most comfortable seats I've sat in. I even went on a 2000 mile cross country trip with my Si last year, and I had no soreness problems. It might be you. I'm not trying to be mean, but usually people don't complain about these seats.

On the highway, at about 65 mph, I'm at 3500 rpm or something like that. Maybe 3000. I'm not really sure. How high are you talking about?

My lower back use to kill me on long drives, but now it is so much better. My Sparco's are my favorite mod that I have done.

Thumbs down del sol seats

I have a friend that put leather GSR seats in her del sol and they are way more comfortable than the stock del sol seats.

Re: are your delsol seats hurting your back?

it's because they don't have a lumbar support, and they're not made for being leaned back in. They are most comfortable when you sit them all the way to the upright and lock position.... you don't look too cool, but hey, fashion or function... take your choice.

--edit-- and about the revving, what do you mean? when I'm really buzzing like in Atlanta it usually hangs out anywhere from 4200 on up to about 6000 in 5th (yes, I like hanging out at over 100 mph... it's a rush for sure).... Honda is pretty good about not putting more power into an engine than it's capable of. And what do you mean "but it's an S2000"? The basic engine technology is the same on all VTEC engines, whether an F series, H series, or B series.... it's just the different sizes. Damn... Sol, S2000, civic, element, whatever... a honda is a honda, and the VTEC engines are made to scream. Why else would they limit off at 8200?

I like my Del Sol seats quite a lot.

And on the highway at around 80mph I'm usually somewhere in the range of 4,500 - 5,000 rpm's. The Del Sol VTEC redlines at 8,200 and 8,000. The B16 was designed to spin more rpm's to make it's power due to it's smaller bore and stroke from the larger Honda motors. I usually shift gears at 5,000 rpm's on a normal basis. Just drive it like you hate it and eventually you'll get used to it spinning more rpm's. Took me a while to get used to it as well from an '88 Accord that redlined at 6,000.

Re: are your delsol seats hurting your back?

Oh nice sparco seats, I was thinking of buying some for my lovely sol but thanks to some idiot I am going to have to do some body work first.

100 throught atlanta? Haven't tried that, but I bought my car near there. Once going through nashville (looking for my sol mate ) I needed the directions and my friend was asleep, so i sped up to 120 in his integra, weaving through semi trucks (he paranoid of em) like nothing, and woke him up. Needless to say, I haven't drove his car in a while Very nice rush though. Was going through my town against my friend's sol and an integra joined the fun, was travelling a nice 110. I had to slow down before I got pulled over though since my license is suspended

Anyone set up the seat harnesses for the sparco seats in their sol?

I miss living in Atlanta already. Everyone drives 110mph up I-985 during rush hour. Took my Sol to 130mph chasing a Porsche Boxter there too.

Hm last time I went through there, I went downtown atlanta (shoulda took the bypass) during rush hour and was going only 84 down the hov lane (wasn't sure if someoen would pull out in front of me) and ended up getting a ticket by cop on motorcycle lol. 84 in a 55 and the ticket was about 350 !
